explanation?

a quick word...


so, i'm not sure how many people actually check out this page, but i have some explaining to do.
First, I apologize for the randomness...these are thought of and drawn as the idea comes to me...they are swiftly jotted into my sketchbook, where you see the scans coming from.  I am currently scanning from a sketchbook that I have about 2 pages left of.  One of these days I will start putting these in some semblance of order...but for now it's in the order that i draw them...not to worry...i will give a quick, shallow synopsis of what's going on:

there's a couple plots going on simultaneously...
So...

Penny (our main character) who is of an unspecified age and her father are moving from New York to the fictional town of Billy Hills, West Virginia.
Penny's fathers' family are hillbillys and are in a struggle against the us government, which has downward spiraled into despotism. 
Durring what would likely be a slaughter of the freedom-fighting hillbillys, a torrential rain downpours on the to-be battle site, washing away the combatants.
There just happens to be a row-boat on the side of the hill as Penny is moving to higher ground to escape the flooding, she trips over a stick or something on the ground, hits her head and falls into said row-boat...you know the rest, right?

she is adrift upon the risen sea...
she meets a polar bear who's very existence is mysterious...
and they have adventures...
and...
and...
